A Proven Voice for Accountability in Tiny Township

For years, I have stood on the front lines alongside many of you as we fought for all taxpayers—demanding transparency, scrutinizing municipal budgets in council chambers, and uncovering the facts through rigorous Freedom of Information research.

True accountability requires more than speaking from the gallery; it requires a seat at the council table.

I am running for Deputy Mayor to restore financial discipline and ensure municipal spending directly reflects community priorities.

My top priority is bringing your voice back to the Township of Tiny while ensuring strict fiscal responsibility.

Your next Deputy Mayor, Township of Tiny

Karen Zulynik, candidate for Tiny Township Council
Why I'm Running

Watching from the gallery is no longer enough.

For more than three years, I attended every council meeting. I delivered flyers, reviewed budgets line-by-line, and kept residents informed when no one else would.

When I saw taxpayers facing massive spending increases and drastically reduced public input, I launched the grassroots Stop The Build movement. Neighbours organizing neighbours for accountability.

When the Township attempted to silence public dissent, I challenged them in court and successfully obtained a stay.

2023

Stop The Build Begins

I launched a grassroots movement after seeing taxpayers saddled with massive spending increases.

2024

Advocacy

A track record of engagement: Years spent attending council meetings, analyzing budgets, distributing informative flyers, and connecting with residents door-to-door.

2025

Court Victory for Free Speech

When the Township tried to silence public dissent, I challenged them in court and obtained a stay.

2026

Running for Council

Meaningful change requires a voice at the decision-making table. I'm taking the next step.

A common-sense platform for property owners.

Seven key priorities built directly from years of listening to our community and hearing their concerns.

1

Stop Runaway Taxes

Cap and freeze tax increases wherever possible, make government live within its means, and protect retirees and families from unsustainable burdens.

2

Put The Admin Build To The People

Upon election, I will immediately secure verified financial figures on the administration build, and share fiscally responsible options directly with residents for community input.

3

Real Financial Oversight

Create a volunteer citizen-led finance committee, run annual budget surveys that deliver full financial transparency, and end taxpayer surprises.

4

End Closed-Door Politics

Eliminating unnecessary closed-door meetings, and practicing open decision-making as much as possible.

5

Restore The Public's Voice

Host regular town halls and end unnecessary restrictions on public input.

6

Fix Core Infrastructure First

Prioritize roads, drainage, flooding, and culverts — core municipal needs before ribbon-cuttings and vanity projects.

7

Protect Tiny's Natural Heritage

Protect forests, waterways, and wildlife through responsible, accountable planning, community-led environmental stewardship, and advocacy for a volunteer Environmental Committee.
